When did you first hear about it? Whether you first heard of it by scrolling through you’re tiktok for you page, your history teacher, or even the news. The Impeachment is a world wide event that is a big deal. The Impeachment was first launched on September, 24 ,2019. But how did this all start? A president being impeached is a big deal,  there has to be very valid reasons why people think they should be impeached. Some commentators argued that Trump abused the presidential pardon power and obstructed congress and held a suspicious phone call with the president of Ukraine. The suspicious phone call was first called into question, when a Trump official filed an anonymous complaint about the president abusing his power. The anonymous caller gave overwhelming evidence that the White House even had to release, which was a transcript of the phone call. Now with all this new fact proved evidence, the House of Representatives launched an impeachment inquiry.

“Over the course of the last three months, we have found incontrovertible evidence that President Trump abused his power by pressuring the newly elected president of Ukraine to announce an investigation into President Trump’s political rival,”

said Representative Adam B. Schiff, Democrat of California and the Intelligence Committee chairman, who led the impeachment inquiry.

Shortly after, on December 18, 2019, The House of Representatives voted on the Articles of Impeachment. All representatives passed them, yet not a single republican voted for them. The second part of the impeachment was the Senate Trial. This is when the Senate votes to remove the president from office. The overall majority of Senators then came to the decision that Donald Trump would go under the title that he was impeached, but wouldn’t be removed from office.
